Quantum CAD chosen for £8 million LEAD Wales programme
Quantum CAD, one of the UK’s leading specialists in the provision of PCB and full product design services, today announced that Steve Jones and Martin Jones have been selected as two of only 25 of the most successful owner-managers in Wales to take part in the LEAD Wales project.

'LEAD Wales' is an £8 million project, funded by the Welsh Assembly Government and the European Social Fund, with the primary aim of helping develop businesses in the region over a six-year period. It is hoped hat the scheme will eventually help some 700 businesses in the area, with the first cohort of 25 completing the programme within the next 10 months.

The scheme is aimed at improving skills through a range of training and networking opportunities, as well as motivation and confidence-building techniques (worth over £10,000) and concentrates on two areas of the business: the business itself and the personal development of the owner-manager; providing a framework to increase profitability, to enable diversification and support business growth.

Steve Jones, owner and Managing Director of Quantum CAD, commented: “Typically, business support programmes are focused on helping business start-ups, clusters or high growth sectors. Quantum CAD is a medium-sized business, and the LEAD programme is perfect for us. We are extremely excited to have been chosen as participants, and are looking forward to sharing experiences and ideas with other successful businesses. We are expecting a number of tangible and intangible business benefits – both with regards to sales, productivity and profit, and also staff satisfaction and retention.”

Astonishingly impressive results have already been achieved by Lancaster University Management School who has worked in conjunction with North West Regional Development Agency in piloting this programme. So far in excess of 150 businesses have already seen an increase in their sales turnover, employment, and productivity.
